FST Aids Town of Oxford, MA in Securing Infrastructure Grant

"This MassWorks Grant award to the City of Oxford is a great example of a public-private partnership supporting regional economic development," said Lieutenant Governor Murray. Lieutenant Governor Timothy Murray, together with state and local officials, announced a $2.2 million MassWorks Infrastructure grant for the Town of Oxford, MA at IPG Photonics' facilities on January 5. FST assisted the Town in securing the grant for construction of sewer extension in the Town's southwest section. This project was sparked by IPG Photonics' plan to add staff and increase their production. IPG currently has an on-site WWTF. The addition of 150 new employees would overtax the WWTF capacity, so the industry turned to the Town for assistance and Oxford in turn came to FST for assistance. After examining several options, FST helped the Town gather the information needed to apply for the MassWorks grant, and is currently under contract to design a pumping station and 8,000' of force main.
